A collaboration with SoMad collective members Sara Arno and Carla Maldonado, Terms & Conditions founder Johnnie Chatman and filmmaker Livia Di Lucia.

Terms & Conditions is a showcase of experimentation in moving image and audio based mediums. Placing a spotlight on avant-garde, art-house, independent and no/low budget filmmaking that goes beyond expectations and genres; shining a light on moving image pieces that strive to push the boundaries of accepted form and content while showing a strong sense of authorship. SoMad collective and Terms & Conditions aim to provide a platform and space for interdisciplinary conversations amongst creatives.

The next iteration 0.2 I AM ___ will debut Friday Nov. 15th, 2019 with a joint gallery exhibition and screening. 


SoMad is an artist collective and creative space located in the Flatiron District. Led by founder Sara Arno, the collective consists of artists Carla Maldonado, Paul Simon and Serichai Traipoom. The collective regularly organizes a variety of events ranging from solo exhibitions, sound baths to multi-day film festival extravaganzas. They have exhibited the works of contemporary artists Laura Parnes, Isabella Rosselini, Grahame Weinbren, Tiffany Smith, Jonathan Ellis and Daniel Sherer to name a few. Sara Arno, founder of SoMad, is a photo and video artist and editor based in New York City. Her latest film Sara's Galapagos was recently screened at Film Fest at the Farm in Rhinebeck, NY. Carla Maldonado is a visual artist born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Carla’s work can be next seen at Satellite Art Show NYC opening October 3rd, 2019. 

Johnnie Chatman, founder of Terms & Conditions, is a lens-based artist residing in New York City. Chatman's work has been featured in exhibitions across the United States including at the De Young Museum (San Francisco, CA), Claremont Museum of Art (Claremont, CA), and Black Box Gallery (Portland, OR). 2019 exhibitions include Another West at Fraenkel Gallery (San Francisco, CA), Forecast 2019 Annual Survey Exhibition at SF Camerawork (San Francisco, CA), and Untitled, Art: SF (San Francisco, CA).

Livia Di Lucia is an Italian filmmaker and editor residing in New York. Award winning artist, her work has been in exhibition at Promendades Photographiques, Nowolipki Gallery, Grisart en el Festival de Arles. She has worked on numerous projects for major publications in fashion and media.
